Once a very common sight around the British Isles from wildflower meadows & cliff tops but now sadly becoming quite rare since industrialisation. English Tudors adored but this gentle beauty so much they planted great swathes of as lawns so when they walked the delicate appley aroma filled the air. Can be made into chamomile tea with honey & lemon making the ultimate soothing drink.
CULTURE – One of the easiest plants to grow. Thoroughly clear a patch of ground then literally sprinkle seeds liberally on top. Water the whole area & that’s it. The ultimate ‘sow & throw’ flower. Or, Sow Feb – April in seed trays undercover. Needs gentle warmth to germinate. When large enough transfer to individual pots & when matured, transfers to the final location once all rick of frost has pasted. Trim regularly to promote compact dense growth.
