Annual delphiniums are 10x more harder working than their perennial cousins & as such we are rewarded with stunning cut flowers, with excellent vase life & a fabulous range of colours. But there is a warning, in the Victorian language of flowers Larkspur usually meanings lightness & levity but be warned, if you offer pink or purple larkspur this means Fickleness & Haughtiness. 
 
CULTURE – Sow Feb – April in seed trays undercover. (Germination can be better if seed pack is placed in freezer for one week before sowing.) When plants are large enough, transfer to individual pots & then when matured, transfers to the final location once all rick of frost has pasted. It is always worth plant in blocks or 3,5,7 etc to experience the visual impact but ensure there is plenty of air circulation to prevent mildew.
