Extremely rare perennial sweet pea that was first discovered at the Straits of Magellan in 1744 by no other than Ships Captain, Lord Anson himself. An absolute beauty with wisteria blue flowers on tumble down vines that can easily reach 8ft tall. As you can imagine this variety is rather storm-proof! But will need plenty of staking to ensure the tendrils have a firm anchorage to support the exquisite flowers.
CULTURE – Soak seeds in warm water for 6hrs before sowing them on warm Autumn or Spring Day in 8cm pots about 1cm deep. The deeper the pot the better to ensure the roots have plenty of space to develop. Germination may take up to 21days. Once the 2nd set of leaves develop, pinch out to encourage bushier plants. Plant next to a suitable framework that will allow for full growth. Cut back to ground level in the autumn & mulch. Flowers mid-summer.
