MAINCROP.  Also Known As ‘Green Arrow’. Once a favourite of acclaimed English Gardener Beth Chatto as thrives even in the poorest of soil. Also, a valued pea in the American Prairies due to it abundant cropping / excellent freezing qualities & fairly bush habit. 
 
Can be sown directly in Sept/Oct or Feb/March (although benefit from cloche protection during harsh winter weather).  Prefers a warm, sheltered, sunny location with plenty of well-rotted mature incorporated into the soil. Overall height: 1m (3ft).  Plants need to be kept moist for good pod set. Needs pea sticks.
