1st EARLY. Once very popular in North English Gardens especially during the Dig for Victory Campaign due to it exceptional hardiness. It can be sown in November to catch an early crop in Spring without the need for further protection. A Lincolnshire pea through & though.

Can be sown directly in Sept/Oct or Feb/March (although benefit from cloche protection during harsh winter weather).  Prefers a warm, sheltered, sunny location with plenty of well-rotted mature incorporated into the soil. Overall height: 30cm (1ft).  Plants need to be kept moist for good pod set. Needs tall pea sticks.
